Closer

Ron, this is Rob with Tweeds. I also own a publishing company Archangel Ink, and I’d like to help with your book.

There are a few things I see that I’d recommend to help it stand out better on Amazon.

Below are step-by-step actions I suggest (with screenshots) to extract more from your listing.

Step 1- Add simple stylization to your book description

Copy/paste this slightly modified description in the Amazon listing, or use this tool to generate code for easier reading

Why do we do this:

  • – helps the description read easier (several short paragraphs rather than two weightier text blocks)
  • – makes the book stand out at better and appear stronger “above the break” (where Amazon offers the “Read More” drop down)
  • – bullet points engage readers and each line starts with action words
  • – Bold/h4 setting emphasizes the strong opening pull, and the call to action at the end

Step 2- Create an Amazon Author Central Page

Using Amazon's Author Central May Cut Off your Publisher | Koehler Books Publishing

Go to https://author.amazon.com/

Click Join, login with your Amazon credentials and set up an Account (may need to verify via email)

Once set up, you’ll see a page like this:

Click Edit Profile

You’ll see a page like this:

Add your biography and profile image (such as these copied from your IG and from your book)

Known on the internet as the “SALESGOD,” Ron Earley is an American entrepreneur and psychology enthusiast who has used his sales expertise to accumulate over $40,000,000 in revenue in just the past nine years.

Ron cofounded Heavy Marketing, LLC in 2017, and since then, has been automating traffic for  6-, 7-, and 8-figure businesses ready to sale their companies up– way up. Heavy Marketing, LLC effectively fills a gap in the industry, connecting its marketing team to in-house sales teams, not only funneling vast amounts of traffic to its clients but coaching sales teams on how to successfully close the tsunami of new business. If your sales team isn’t large enough, Heavy Marketing, LLC will outsource its team to generate the revenue your company deserves.

In CLOSER, Ron shares his easy-to-implement closing strategies, powerful tools for all salespeople in every market., Real estate agents, car salespeople, small business owners of all shapes and sizes, big corporations– no matter what you sell or where you sell it, if your livelihood depends on sales, CLOSER will help you sell more.

Next, click on Books on the upper menu

Click on “Add a Book”

Search your name or ISBN for CLOSER to claim it

Claim each edition that appears (print, Kindle, audio)

It may take a couple of days to populate, but once it does, you’ll have your listing linked to your profile, so people can click on your name and instead of going to an Amazon search page, your curated image, bio and any other associated media will appear. It will look like this:

Step 3- Optimize Keywords and Categories

I use a tool called Publisher Rocket to select the 7 keywords each for Kindle and Print editions that Amazon allows you.

You may be familiar with this already, but if not, the goal is Amazon search engine optimization. Ideally we want to find 7 great keywords that are both highly sought after and under-served, so that when a browser plugs them in, your book appears immediately.

Longer tail keywords can be more effective than shorter-tail keywords, as it allows for better positioning with comparatively less competition. But going too specific can limit reach, so you want to find a balance.

You or your team can experiment yourself with the software I linked above, but based on a bit of research, here are some keyword recommendations that have either low competition, high number of monthly searches and/or strong monthly average earnings

Kindle

  • Sales acceleration formula
  • Sales and selling
  • Sales books best sellers
  • Sales objections
  • Sales truth
  • Sales management simplified
  • Sales development playbook

Print

  • Sales and marketing books
  • Sales closing
  • Sales coaching
  • Sales leadership books
  • Sales management that works
  • Sales questions
  • Sales ninja
  •

Categories

Amazon allows you to select two categories from your KDP dashboard.

But their drop down menu doesn’t actually contain all of the categories you could have your book listed in.

Additionally, if you contact them via the Author Central Help page, you can request to to be listed in up to 10 categories.

These allow you greater discoverability.

When browsers scan through categories, they’re more likely to select a title at the top of its category, or at least on the first page.

By placing yourself in additional categories (some of which are smaller and more niche and thus require fewer sales to rank high), you become easier for customers to find and you demonstrate more credibility.

Browsers are more likely to click on your book organically (without requiring paid ads or knowing your book name or title to find you)

To update these, go to your Author Central page again

Click, HELP in the upper right menu

Click Contact Us

Select “Amazon Book Page” on the left hand menu, then “Update Amazon Categories”

You’ll see this contact form

You can request category updates for all editions form one form

Here’s the text I’d use (just fill in your current categories)

CONCLUSION

Thanks for checking this out Ron- I’m enjoying your book and appreciate especially the systematic “why?”- based approach to sales.

Please take and make use of whatever makes sense for you, and let me know if any of this was helpful.

If not, all good- appreciate your time.

In either event, thanks for your work, and would love to earn your business on another Tweeds suit or few when you’re ready. ????
